Class Reps
Each year the PAC needs volunteer class reps for every class in the school. Please consider volunteering as a class rep in your child's class. The class rep is an important role that can be shared with another parent or done solo. You are the liaison between the PAC, your class teacher and the parents in your class. Your role includes: forwarding PAC emails, creating a class list, organizing silent auction donations and volunteers for the Spring Carnival, as well as coordinating teacher gifts and attending PAC meetings. Being a class rep is also a great way to get to know other parents in your child's class.
The roles and responsibilities of a Class Rep are outlined below. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you are willing to take on the position.
Fill out the form here to volunteer as Class Rep ... in the comments please indicate which division (and teacher) your child is in.

Class Rep Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the Executive PAC and the parents in your class
- Attend monthly PAC meetings as often as possible. This is the best way to acquire current and accurate information about what is happening at the school.
- Fan out class specific emails as requested by the teacher or PAC (very few)
- Provide advice/input to PAC through:
- Ideas/suggestions for events and activities
- Feedback from parents regarding PAC activities
- Any other issues that you feel are relevant
- Facilitate the creation of a silent auction basket from your class once a year. Consider soliciting the help of another parent.
- Solicit donations of items or cash from parents via email
- Arrange for a basket to be placed in the classroom for donated items
- Purchase items from donated money
- Wrap basket & provide an itemized list of contents
- Coordinate the coverage of volunteer shifts for our June carnival.
- Coordinate teacher gifts at Christmas and end of year.
The PAC will support you by:
- Providing you with a class contact list
- Providing you with theme options and a form letter for the silent auction baskets
- Providing you with a timetable grid and form letter for carnival volunteers
- Being available to answer questions and provide direction when requested
As a Class Rep you will agree to:
- Sign the North Vancouver School District Confidentiality Declaration
- Never distribute or use the email list for personal use
- Protect the confidentiality of parents contact information by always sending email blind copy.
- Reduce email fatigue and avoid duplication of messages by only distributing PAC or teacher requested emails.
- I will consult with a PAC executive member before sending out additional email messages (this does not apply to grade 7 reps).
- Be mindful of the fact that the school is comprised of a diverse range of socio-economic status and not everyone is able to contribute financially. Parent participation in all above events is encouraged, but not mandatory.
