About Pink Shirt Day:
Pink Shirt Day originated in 2007 when two high school students from Nova Scotia, David Shepherd and Travis Price, heard that a fellow student was being bullied for simply wearing a pink shirt. They decided to take a stand against bullying. They purchased and distributed pink shirts for other students to wear in solidarity and to show the would-be bullies that the person being targeted did not stand alone. Hundreds of students participated, and from there Pink Shirt Day started.
Pink Shirt Day is celebrated every February across Canada to raise awareness about the negative impacts of bullying and to promote anti‐bullying initiatives in schools.
